This song discusses the inevitable disillusionment that hits when a child loses their innocence and realizes that the world is not all that it seems to be, that feeling of jadedness coming to terms with it, how that breaks the heart as each thing dispels itself before your eyes and how we begin a journey to find out who we are in all of it, making mistakes along the way that shape us but also reveal us to ourselves... yet, through this, a spiritual awakening can emerge, and the trauma, the pain, the wounds, can be channeled in a positive means to help one's mind transcend, learning deeper secrets of the universe and nature compelling us to spill our hearts, to express, to give, to love... all the while knowing that it's only in the end that we can ever possible understand all of this, the whys, the reasons.
